Description

Spotfire installed client is not able to see or open Microsoft Access .accdb files. When you click File->Open, under "All Supported Files", the *.accdb extension is not displayed.

Client machine has the following:
- Windows 7 64-bit with .Net Framework 4.5.2
- Microsoft Office Home and Business 2013 - 32-bit installed and present, as shown in the Control Panel (Programs)
- With Microsoft Access 2013, you can open an .accdb file without any issues

Spotfire is not able to open an .accdb file. When opening a previously created report (created by a user on a different machine) that uses the file, you get the following error:

Missing Data

The data table "abc" could not be opened. the data source may be missing or has been changed.

Open the analysis anyway (data tables based on the missing data will be empty)?

See attachment (Filename: MissingDatadialog.jpg).

Issue/Introduction

Supported Files type - *.accdb and *.accde files not available/showing.

Resolution

The cause of this issue is because of a missing driver.

To resolve this Install the Microsoft Access driver on the client machine. The Microsoft Access 2013 Runtime enables you to distribute Access 2013 applications to users who do not have the full version of Microsoft Access 2013 installed on their computers. You will need:
- AccessRuntime_x86_en-us.exe
- AccessRuntime_x64_en-us.exe
