Spotfire Connector for Oracle

Description

When connecting to an Oracle database using the TIBCO Spotfire Connector for Oraclehttps://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire/general/sr/GUID-71EDC198-D037-4A3B-B296-4B3EC2CAA0CC.html, a connection could not be established.

You get following errors:

Error : Could not connect because the server version is unsupported.

External error:
The server is running an unsupported version of Oracle (10.2.0.5.0). Spotfire required version 11.1 or newer.

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to connect to an Oracle database using the TIBCO Spotfire Connector for Oracle, you get the error "The server is running an unsupported version of Oracle"

Resolution

The Oracle database needs to be upgraded to version 11.1.0.0 or higher. Please refer to the system requirements for which Oracle database versions are supported for your Spotfire version.

If upgrading the database to a version supported by the connector is not an option, consider exploring the other available options for accessing data from Spotfire, as described in the page Overview - Accessing Data from Databases in the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst manual.
