When defining privileges on resources for users and groups, the privileges may be lost after deploying the resources. This occurs because of incorrect steps used to define the privileges. This article describes the steps required to define and deploy the privileges correctly.
Issue/Introduction
This article explains the steps required to deploy privileges to another instance of TIBCO Data Virtualization when using the Deployment Manager
Environment
All Supported OS.
Resolution
Below steps can be followed to define and deploy the privileges on resources in the Deployment manager:
- Create a Resource bundle and move the resources from Available Resources to Bundle Definition.
- Create a Principal Bundle with the required groups.
- Create a new PLAN and add the following operations:
1. Migrate Principal Operations - Select the created principal bundle.
2. Migrate Resources Operation - Select the created resource bundle.
3. Click on "Principal Bundle Filter" and select the required group.
- Execute the deployment plan.
- Create a Resource bundle and move the resources from Available Resources to Bundle Definition.
- Create a Principal Bundle with the required groups.
- Create a new PLAN and add the following operations:

2. Migrate Resources Operation - Select the created resource bundle.
3. Click on "Principal Bundle Filter" and select the required group.
