Description

- Official location of Webfocus client logs is : C:/ibi/WebFOCUS82/logs 
- Please follow the below steps to change the location :
(In the example ,I will be changing the location to : C:/ibi/ibi/apps/traces2 )

Issue/Introduction

This article covers the instructions to change the destination of webfocus client logs.

Environment

Windows

Resolution

1.) Login to WF-client.
2.) Go to Management center > admin console > Configuration tab > Under "Application Settings" , select "Application Directories"
3.) In the traces paste the location :  C:/ibi/ibi/apps/traces2/     
(as shown in attached ss "traces_AD.png")

4.) Save it and clear the cache .
5.) Now go to the machine where WF is installed, and go to this below location:
   C:\ibi\WebFOCUS82\webapps\webfocus\WEB-INF\classes  and make a backup copy of "log4j2.xml" before making any changes .

6.) Now open the file in notepad++, do find and replace for the below :

    Find         : C:/ibi/WebFOCUS82/logs
    Replace with : C:/ibi/ibi/apps/traces2 
    (as shown in below "log4j2_changes.png")

7.) Save the file.
8.) Restart the application server (i.e. Tomcat) from services .
9.) Restart the reporting server .
