to restrict visibility of a multiple tabs for some new user ID's for a production portal with many different tabs for specific user responsibilities 

In order to hide or deny visibility of some tabs on an existing production portal follow the below steps:

1)Login to WebFocus client.

2)Go to workspace.

3)Under my workspace you see the portal you created as 'eg. Test_portal resources'.

4)Click on 'Test_portal resources' you can see the list of tabs you created inside the portal.

5)Right click on the tab you want to hide for a particular user(eg. test).

6)Select security > Rules.

7)Click on User and select the user for which you want to hide the selected tab.

8)Below you can see BIPFullControl, BIPViewOnly and ListAndRead set their Acess as 'Denied'.

9)Click on OK.

10)Sign out of WebFocus client and again login as user(test) and run the portal.
