As of now, there is no direct method that can stop the users or groups from publishing resources into the Composite Data Services. However, this can be done by restricting the privileges of the Composite Data Services. To prevent any user or a group to publish a resource in TIBCO Data Virtualization then the respective user or group should not have WRITE access to the Composite Data Services.

NOTE: Sometimes the admin user needs to remove the WRITE privilege from the ALL group before following the below steps.

To add or remove the privileges from the Composite Data Services, follow the below steps:

1. Open TDV Studio as an admin user
2. Right-click on the Composite Data Services
3. Select Privileges
4. Remove the Write privileges from the user or groups
5. Check the below checkboxes:
   • Apply recursively to dependencies
   • Check Apply recursively to dependents
   • Check Apply recursively to chill resources and folders
6. Click Apply then OK

After this, these users or groups will get the option to publish but when they try to publish the resource or create any service/catalogue while publishing then TDV will throw the permission error that the user does not have the privilege to do this.
