Description

In a typical TIBCO DataSynapse GridServer environment, when 32bit and 64bit Engine Daemon shares common Profile Directory, the engine instances pickups wrong engine configuration which is used by the 32bit/64bit engine previously and shows * (asterisk mark) on the UI page.(Engine Daemon > Configuration). Due to this behavior, the daemon ignores the selected engine configuration and picks the default one.

Issue/Introduction

When 32bit and 64bit Engine Daemon shares common Profile Directory, the engine instances pickups wrong engine configuration which is used by the 32bit/64bit engine previously and shows * (asterisk mark) on the UI page.(Engine Daemon > Configuration). Due to this behavior, the daemon ignores the selected engine configuration and picks the default one.

Environment

Operating System: Linux

Resolution

Use separate folders for profiles directory if using both 32bit and 64bit engines alternately. TIBCO DataSynapse GridServer doesn’t support the same profile folder whether it is local or on NFS, because the Profile directory is a host-specific directory for native code logging and configuration info to be created.
