Issue:
  • The Connector fails to update.  
  • The TIBCO Scribe® Online Agent is in an endless loop trying to update, failing, trying to update, failing, over and over again.  

Issue/Introduction

This technote describes troubleshooting techniques for TIBCO Scribe® Online Agents that are looping and/or Connectors that are not deploying.

Resolution

Troubleshooting:

Check the following:
  • All of the recommended ports are open. Analyze the firewall logs to see if anything is blocked. See On-Premise Agent Requirements in the TIBCO Scribe® Online Help for port information.
  • There has been no change in permissions for the user or service account running the Scribe Agent Windows service.
  • The Scribe Agent Windows service has been restarted and the issue persists.
  • There are no errors on other Agents using the same Connector.

Recommended Actions:

  • Stop the Scribe Agent Windowsvservice
  • Copy the Agent directory to another location.
  • Delete the original Agent directory – all logs, directories, Connectors ( ..\Scribe Software\Scribe Online Agent\ )
  • Provision a new Agent
  • Download and install the Connector
