Provided are alternative methods to uninstall Statistica when Statistica that has failed to uninstall. These can be used to attempt to force an uninstall of a 'stuck' copy of Statistica. These should only be used if the installation cannot be removed normally (see How to un-install and un-register Statistica (single-user desktop)). Please do not use these solutions as a method to attempt to repair or fix an installation, use only to fix a broken uninstall.
Environment
Windows operating systems only.
Resolution
Solution 1: Re-run the original installer. The installer should automatically detect Statistica is already installed and offer to remove it. In the example below, the Setup.exe is launched from the installer folder:
If the uninstall fails, try 'Solution 2'.
Solution 2:
Run a repair by:
1. Copy the installation folder (containing the installation files, likely named "English_64" or "Install64") from the DVD, or unzipped downloaded installer folder, to a location on the local hard drive (the Desktop or Temp folder is fine). 2. Launch an admin command prompt. 3. Enter the following command: MsiExec.exe /Feumsv <path to msi>|<product id>, e.g., MsiExec.exe /Feumsv "C:\Users\<username>\Downloads\TIB_stat_13.3.1_win\TIB_stat_13.3.1_win\Install64\STATISTICA 13.3.721.1 64-BIT.MSI" 4. The installer will begin a repair:
5. The repair might display the same warnings about the xml file and key. Ignore and continue the repair. 6. After the repair completes, restart your computer and proceed to the uninstall instructions.
Uninstall the product:
1. Navigate to where you copied the installation files and launch setup.exe using admin permissions by right-clicking and choosing Run as Administrator. 2. Select "Remove" 3. Complete the uninstall.
Solution 3:
Download the MsiZap.piz file, attached to this knowledge base article.Rename the to the .zip extension, right-click and select "Extract All..." to a folder.
1. Open an administrator command prompt: right-click on the command prompt in All Programs | Accessories and select 'Run as administrator' 2. Navigate to the directory containing the MsiZap.exe application 3. In the command prompt, type 'Msizap TW! <product code> ' , without the quotes, using one of the two product codes for 13.3.704.1 (13.3.0) below:
4. The utility will run and output operations: 5. After the output completes, check Control Panel | Programs and Features to see Statistica is now removed.
