Issue/Introduction

This article discusses the installation error and the steps to resolve it: Assembly Error in Statistica Installer Log File.

Environment

Windows operating systems.

Resolution

I.   First try using the standard troubleshooting for a failed installation here

II.  If none of the above has helped resolve the issue you may download and run the System Update Readiness  tool from Microsoft. It is designed to check everything and make sure there are no problems that would prevent the installation of Microsoft Office. Since the components required for Office and Statistica overlap a great deal, in particular the Visual C++ Runtime, this utility may be able to find and fix the problem.

Additional resources on this at Microsoft: Error 1935 when you try to install Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007

III.  If the 'cbs.log' shows something similar to "Failed to load the COMPONENTS hive from 'C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS' into registry key 'HKLM\COMPONENTS'",  use the Microsoft .NET Repair Tool.

IV.  In addition, running the Microsoft System File Checker as documented here:System File Checker (sfc)

To do this, open an elevated command prompt window (opened as Administrator).

       1. Start | All Programs | Accessories then right-click on Command Prompt and select ‘Run as Administrator’
       2. Type: SFC /SCANNOW and press Enter

This process will scan and verify all of the protected system files on the computer. And can also help verify that the computer is not running out of registry space. Please note this process will likely take a long time to run.
