Issue/Introduction

Best Practices for Load Balancer Use with Active Cluster

Resolution

(1)   A round-robin load balancing scheme is the recommended configuration.

(2)   Be aware that the TDV nodes passively wait for incoming requests. The nodes do not know whether the requests are being sent to them from a user, a client application, or  a load balancer. Active Cluster nodes have no programmatic awareness of the load balancer, or of how the load balancer is configured.

(3)  When using TDV Studio, make sure to connect Studio to one of the nodes (i.e. do not connect Studio to the load balancer, as Studio is designed to connect to TDV servers).
