Description

This article provides information on Active Cluster setup for TIBCO Data Virtualization instances running on different Operating Systems

Issue/Introduction

Can TIBCO Data Virtualization instances running on different Operating Systems form an Active Cluster?

Environment

All supported Operating Systems

Resolution

TIBCO Data Virtualization Active Cluster uses a share-nothing architecture, therefore TDV instances running on UNIX and Windows servers can form a cluster and share resources. Here are couple of recommendations:
1. All Cluster nodes must be running the same version and patch level of Active Cluster (TDV).
2. All TDV instances should have comparable operational characteristics: memory, number of CPUs, and CPU speed.

Additional Information

For the list of TDV Supported Operating Systems, refer to the section 'Operating System Support for Server' (Page 18) of the Installation Guide. Here is the link to the product documentation: https://docs.tibco.com/products/tibco-data-virtualization-8-2-0
