Cannot manually start a backup/restore in TIBCO LogLogic SEM

Description

When trying to initiate a manual backup or restore operation you may be the pop-up close immediately or no pop-up will be opened at all. It's possible this is occurring because there is an active backup or restore process already running. You must verify that no another backup or restore operation has started. To do that, you can open this file:

vi /var/lib/exaprotect/logs/<InstanceName>/eas.log

or after 2.7 version

vi /var/lib/exaprotect/logs/<InstanceName>/esmp.log


If any of these operations are already running they must be able to complete in order for your manually backup or restore can begin. Or open the configuration menu in GUI and go in restore menu to see if you can see the daily backup. If the daily backup isn't visible then your current backup is not finished.

If you open an old eas.log or esmp.log file then you can see the execution time of your daily backup and estimate when it will complete. The other solution is to restart the services to end the actual backup. After that you can start the manual backup or restore task.
