Description

Typically, the TIBCO Scribe Online Agent Windows service will work from the default system account. Depending on local system or network policies, you may need to change the Agent to run either as a Service or Domain account.

Issue/Introduction

Use this article if you need your TIBCO Scribe Online Agent Service to run as a user other than the one associated with the default system account.

Resolution

Here are the steps required for making the change to another account:
  1. Login to the machine running the Agent.
  2. Navigate to your Windows Services window.

  1. Scroll down to the TIBCO Scribe Online Agent Windows Service.

  1. Right-click the Agent and select Properties.
  2. Select the Log On tab and click the radio button for This Account.

  1. Click Browse and type in your fully qualified Windows User name: (i.e. MYDOMAIN\USERNAME)
  2. Click Check Name, then OK to apply the settings.
Note: Some users may need to modify the Object Types... option for their local machine.

  1. Enter the password for the account you selected.
  2. Click OK to save your changes and return to the Services screen.
  3. Right-click the TIBCO Scribe Online Agent service and select Restart.
