Whenever TIBCO Scribe®
Insight is installed, the ScribeInternal database (SIDB) will have multiple references to the server name that Insight was installed on. There are a few scenarios where these references must be updated in order for Insight to function properly: - TIBCO Scribe® Insight is installed on a new server but is utilizing the existing ScribeInternal database.
- The ScribeInternal database has been restored to a different environment using a different Insight installation.
For example you restore the Production SIDB to a Test environment.
In both cases the Insight server references, which exist in multiple tables, are no longer correct.
Issue/Introduction
The ScribeInternal database contains the name of the server Insight is installed on.
There are times when the server references need to be updated.
Resolution
The proper method for updating the server name is to use the InternalDB.exe utility found in the folder where TIBCO Scribe®
Insight is installed. Run the InternalDB.exe utility and select the Internal Database tab.
Click Test Connection and then Update Insight Server Name. The utility is just a simple search & replace tool.
Specify the old and new Insight server names and click Update Server Name.
While multiple tables are updated, the easiest way to see the old/new values is to query the Server_Owner value in the Ksync table.
