Title of analysis file with Chinese characters are seen as garbled characters in the Web Player server log. See the attached image (Filename: Logfile.GIF). The same is being displayed correctly in the tab "Web Player Monitoring" on the server. See the attached image (Filename: WebPlayerMonitoring.GIF).

Resolution

For Spotfire 7.0 and below: Edit the file log4net.config file(C:\Program Files\TIBCO\Spotfire Web Player\6.5.X\webroot\app_data\log4net.config) on the Web Payer server and add the following encoding line.

encoding value="utf-8"/; ###add this line###

Restart the Web Player server service.

For Spotfire 7.5 and above: By default, the encoding value="utf-8" setting has been added in the the log4net.config file for the Web Player.
