Description
The details of the Oracle Client required for TIBCO iProcess Engine (iPE) version 11.7.0 specified in the readme.txt supplied with the distribution archive and the Installation Guide may cause some confusion.
The iPE 11.7.0 readme.txt document specifies the database information:
Database
Oracle Database 12c 12.1.x, 12.2.x
12.1.x - Oracle Client must be 12.2.0.1
12.2.x - Oracle Client must be 12.2.0.1
The iPE 11.7.0 Installation Guide document specifies the database information:
Certified Database Release
11.2.0.4, 12.1
Compatible Database Release
11.2.0.x where x is 4 or higher
Client Release
• For HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX platforms, the client must be 12.1.0.2 or later.
• For Linux platforms, the client must be 12.1.0.2 or later.

The iPE version 11.7.0 has been validated using Oracle Client versions 12.1.0.2 and 12.2.0.1.
Therefore the minimum Oracle Client version to be used is 12.1.0.2.
In general, providing Oracle support the combination of Oracle Client and Oracle Server being used then TIBCO will support the combination. However, TIBCO may not have validated every combination.
