Description
Generally, online applications use UTC for recording the date and time of transactions or changes. When a user logs into the online application, it checks the time zone for the user's system and then converts the date/time from UTC to the user's time zone for display purposes. This provides database consistency while users from around the world access the data from different time zones.
TIBCO Scribe® Online does this with both Replication Services (RS) and Integration Services (IS). For instance, the date/times for Solution executions are recorded in the Scribe database as UTC. When those dates/times are displayed for the same Solution executions in the View History window, they are converted to the time zone indicated by the user's system clock. If an IS execution started at 5:00 PM UTC, a user in Madrid Spain sees this execution starting at 6:00 PM CET, a user in New York sees this execution starting at 12:00 PM EST, and a user in California sees this execution starting at 9:00 AM PST. Using this method, the time zone or system clock for the server supporting the Scribe OnlineTIBCO Scribe® Agent does not affect the date/time of any transactions.
Issue/Introduction
Date and time of transactions are saved as UTC in IS View History and RS Database. Scribe Online checks the System Clock for the user's Time Zone and then converts the transaction time from UTC to the users time zone.
