Note: This article applies only to the TIBCO Scribe® Online Crystal release.

When you create a new Connection, an alias for the Connection name is automatically created. The alias is required by TIBCO Scribe® Online Integration Solutions to ensure that TIBCO Scribe® Online can determine the entities associated with a selected Connection in the Formula Editor. Typically, you do not need to use or change the alias.

However, if you need to change a Connection Alias, where you change it in the system affects all Maps that use the same Connection.

Editing a Connection Alias from within a Map by selecting Edit Connection from the Gear menu can cause other Maps using that Connection to fail because the Alias is not updated across all Maps. (D33518)

Always make sure to update the Connection Alias from the Connections page.
