The ability to create 3D plots is based mainly on your computer's hardware. Below are the things to check:
1) Open the Spotfire Analyst > Help > Support Diagnostics and Logging > Diagnostic Information > Hardrware Acceleration - Enabled/Disabled.For 3D plots to work we need hardware acceleration. Please verify that the "Hardware Acceleration" in Windows is fully enabled .
2) Run the DirectX diagnostics tool on the machine (by entering "dxdiag" in the Windows Start menu > Run). In Dxdiag / Display tab, click on the two buttons to "Test Directdraw" and "Test Direct3D". Confirm if the tests are successful. If you don't see these buttons, verify if 'Direct3D' and 'DirectDraw' are enabled in the 'Display' tabs that are visible.
3) Below is the Spotfire Analyst display setting requirement: ---------------------------------- Recommended: 1366*768 pixel resolution or higher, 16 or 32-bit color depth. Minimum: 1024x768 pixel resolution, 16 or 32-bit color depth.
For functionality that require hardware acceleration (such as the 3D plot), DirectX 9 or higher and a compatible graphics card is required. --------------------------------
