The LMI update fails when upgrading from 4.6.1 to 4.8 (and above).
Error Message:
Update failed.
Note: See error message below.
Status: Error in updating this appliance, please logout of your session and download the update again.
The upgrade will stop after it checks for the LSP version and will note the problem in the sys.log.
Issue/Introduction
This article explains the reason for the "Error: Update failed" message when upgrading LMI from 4.6.1 to 4.8.
Resolution
The solution is to make sure you have at least LSP 11 installed. Then you will be able to upgrade to LSP 15 afterwards.
