Description

The Export tab of the Administration Manager lets you export the current groups from the Spotfire Database on the server. This way, you can import and reuse the information on a different server if you need to change servers. When exporting the groups from the Administration Manager in the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client via the following steps, you may see that LDAP groups are not included in the exported list.
- Launch the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client
 - Click on "Tools" menu
 - Select "Administration Manager"
 - Click on "Export" tab
 - Click on "Export Groups" to export all the groups

Resolution

User groups can be exported, but LDAP synchronized groups are not exported using the "Export groups" option in Administration Manager. This is by design since this feature is used for managing the user-managed groups, not groups synchronized from external systems (which would be automatically synchronized based on the TIBCO Spotfire Server LDAP configuration).
Note: Both user groups and LDAP synchronized groups can be exported when the user group is at top level and LDAP group is the child of user group when you have selected "Include member groups" in Export tab.
To export all groups from the Spotfire environment, you can query the GROUPS table in the Spotfire application database with a query like:
SELECT * FROM GROUPS
Note: Externally synced groups that match the current LDAP group synchronization configuration will have GROUPS.CONNECTED = 1
