Description


When the broker is flooded with some number of tasks and finished all queued tasks and when triggered for scale down of engine instances created by Managed Instance Group(MIG) of GCP then while getting scale down suddenly it starts to create an extra number of engine instances though there are zero tasks pending in brokers queue.
 

Issue/Introduction

Engine count get scale up when there is no workload on brokerHPCCA engine instance count getting increased when there is zero running/pending tasks on broker (GCP)

Environment

Cloud Provider: GCP HPCCA: 1.4, 1.5, 2.0 Tibco Datasynapse Gridsrever: 6.x, 7.x

Resolution


In order to fix this issue we need to disable "instance redistribution" property from the Instance Groups from the GCP console.
Please refer attached screenshot where the above setting is highlighted.
