Issue/Introduction
How do I search for users in two trees/locations within the same Active Directory?
Resolution
(1) Back up the file CIS_INSTALL\conf\server\ldap.properties (2) Open the file with a text editor. (3) Edit the filters to specify the two locations that you want to search in, separated by a pipe symbol (i.e.|). The pipe acts as an OR operator.
Example OU=People,OU=United States | OU=Service Accounts,OU=Hosting,OU=People,OU=GM,OU=Service Provider,OU=Domain
tells the LDAP server to search in: OU=People,OU=United States or in: OU=Service Accounts,OU=Hosting,OU=People,OU=GM,OU=Service Provider,OU=Domain4
Note that you do not need to restart the TIBCO Data Virtualization server after making this change. Not requiring a restart is very helpful as it means that you can modify any filter values, and test them out instantaneously.
