Description

We can use theĀ switch-domain-name-style command to change the domain name style used for users in the User Directory managed by an LDAP configuration.

Issue/Introduction

How to change domain name style from DNS to NetBIOS or vice versa without creating duplicate entries in the USERS table of Spotfire database

Resolution

Follow the steps below in sequence to avoid creating duplicate entries:
  1. Stop the TIBCO Spotfire Server service.
  2. From the TIBCO Spotfire Server Configuration tool, change the domain name style to DNS or Netbios and save the updated configuration to the database.
  3. Run the switch-domain-name-style config command. For example:
    config switch-domain-name-style --toolpassword=mytoolpassword --new-domain-name-style=dns
  4. Start the TIBCO Spotfire Server service
