Description

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis services (SSAS) listens on port 2383 by default. If a Spotfire Analyst, using the TIBCO Spotfire Connector for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, cannot connect to SSAS on port 2383, it might be because SSAS is listening on another port.

Resolution

If you have the SQL Server Management Studio installed and have access to the SSAS server, then you can follow the below steps to find the listening port of Analysis Services.

- Open SQL Server management Studio and connect to Analysis services
- Right click the server instance and choose properties
- Click General from the left hand side menu
- Find "Port" in the list on the right hand side.
- If the port number is 0 then SSAS is listening on 2383 otherwise the port number will be shown here.
