How to configure TIBCO Spotfire Analyst work offline mode to a predefined period.
Resolution
There are two ways to configure this.
Option 1:
- Login to a Spotfire server machine with Spotfire Administrator privilege. - Export the latest configuration from Spotfire database using either the Configuration tool or export command and save this configuration in the configutation.xml file on path [server installation directory]\tomcat\bin\ - Open this configuration.xml file in a text or XML editor. - Locate the "offline-days-permitted" tag. - Change the value to the number of days you want the users to be allowed to work offline. - Refer to the attached screenshot (Filename: Changes_in_configurationXML.JPG) to perform this change. - Save the file and import this configuration to Spotfire Database and restart the Spotfire server service.
Option 2:
- Open the Configuration tool on a Spotfire server machine. - Under configuration tab--> Click Login Dialog. Check for 'Permitted Offline Days' parameter value. - Change the value to the number of days you want the users to be allowed to work offline. - Refer to the attached screenshot (Filename: Configure_using_configuration_tool.JPG) to perform this change. - Save the configuration to Spotfire Database and restart the Spotfire server.
NOTE: Only users with Spotfire Administrator privilege can perform this configuration. See the attached screen shots (Filenames: Changes_in_configurationXML.JPG, Configure_using_configuration_tool.JPG) for more details.
