How to configure TIBCO Spotfire for Apple iOS to connect with SiteMinder?

Environment

Product: TIBCO Spotfire for Apple iOS Version: All supported versions OS: iOS

Resolution

The mobile app is capable of presenting a Siteminder login page, assuming a valid partial login page URL has been entered into the "SSO URL" field, which can be accessed by clicking on the "Settings" on the device and then scrolling down to the 'Spotfire' entry and tapping it. Once a username and password has been successfully entered on that page, the session tokens will be stored in the shared cookie store for the app and used throughout the remainder of the session.

To find the correct value to enter into the "SSO URL" field, examine the SiteMinder login page URL in a browser which triggers the redirect and notice something uniquely identifiable in the URL, such as "/SSOLogin" or "/SiteMinderAgent".  Then enter this partial string into the SSO URL setting value and restart the app. Be sure to include the forward slash ("/") and match the case of your SiteMinder configuration. The Analytics app itself does not construct the full URL: rather, the request redirection does. When the app sees a URL redirect, the app tries to match the partial URL to it and if there is a match, it pulls up the redirect in a web page.
