Issue/Introduction

This article discusses setting up a failover

Environment

Windows operating systems only.

Resolution

1.  The full license files may have to be sent to you, one for each server in the Windows Failover Cluster.  Save the license file to the desktop location of each server.
2.  Install the licenses file to each of these servers in the cluster by first launching the Concurrent License Manager as administrator (necessary to see all the options).
3.  To install,  click "Install License File" button and point to the license file (saved on the desktop).
4.  Once the file is updated (the old one is backed-up automatically and renamed with a .bak extension), click the "Restart Service" button and a message will appear that the service was restarted.
5. Make a pointer license file from the ClientSTAT.tmp file on one of the servers in the cluster (it doesn't matter which server we use).
6.  The ClientSTAT.tmp was changed to the <cluster name> and then the MAC address was replaced with 000000000000.  The cluster name can be found by going to Administrative Tools-->Failover Cluster.    Save this file and move it to a shared folder.
7.  On each server/client that needs to refer to the Windows Failover Cluster, copy the ClientSTAT.tmp file to the desktop location
8.  Then for each server/client, open the Statistica application folder (path may be either C:\Program Files\Statistica\Statistica 13\ or C:\Program Files\TIBCO\Statistica\ or C:\Program Files\Dell\Statistica 13\  or C:\Program Files\StatSoft\Statistica 13)
9.  Renamed the current pointer file, stat.lic, to stat.lic.bak
10.  Copy the ClientSTAT.tmp into the Statistica application folder
11.  Renamed ClientSTAT.tmp to stat.lic (turn on the extensions in View).  Make sure the File Type is LIC after renaming the file.

Statistica launch on every client/server pointing to the cluster.
