PREREQUISITES
1. Microsoft Analysis Server in the network with a database to connect to
2. Credentials to the Multi dimensional database.
3.  Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services installed in the client 

How to connect to Microsoft Analysis service OLAP cube from Statistica?

1. Launch Statistica Enterprise Manager (as a user with permissions Database Admin (EXTDB_ADM) or System Admin (SADM) or Statistica. 

2. If using Statistica Enterprise Manager, right click on Database Connections and select New OLEDB Database Connection

             

If using Statistica, click on File>>External Data>>Query>>Create and click on New OLE DB... button

             

3.  Select the Microsoft OLEDB Provider for Analysis Services from the list of providers and click on Next.


4. Input Microsoft Analysis Server details along with credentials. Pick the database. You may optionally test the connection at this point and then click on OK. 



5. Name the connection and click on Commit in the top left hand corner of Enterprise Manager.



Similarly name the connection if using Statistica, and click OK. 




6.  Statistica / Enterprise Manager is now ready to query from Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Service/ OLAP Cube.
