Hot-fixes are usually provided to address a specific issue a user is seeing that has no working workaround and the impact of the issue is significant enough that the user cannot wait for the next release or has a scenario that prevents the user from upgrading to the latest release. 

This article is only a general guidelines and the files affected and the steps involved for a hot-fix could differ for specific hot-fixes.

This article describes the usual procedure involved in deploying a hot-fix for Statistica.

Windows

To deploy a hot-fix on the application server :
 1. Ensure that no users are using Statistica at the time the hot-fix is to be deployed. 
 2. Stop services such as WebStatistica, MASMonitorService that could be affected by the hot-fix (if applicable)
 3. Unzip the contents of the Hotfix.zip file provided.  
 4. Browse to the Statistica installation directory ( C:\Program Files\ [Statsoft\Dell\Tibco] Statistica [version] ) and rename the files in the content of the unzipped file with .bak extension . For example : if statist.exe is listed in the unzipped folder, in the installation directory rename statist.exe to statist.bak or statist.exe.bak

Note : The above step will be accurate if Control Panel | Folder Options | View tab | Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked. 



5.  Copy the contents of the unzipped folder into the Statistica installation directory
6. Start any services stopped in Step 2.

To deploy hot-fix on a workstation (if applicable) : Follow the same guidelines listed above skipping Step 2 and Step 6.
