Description
This article describes how to edit an existing custom query in a data connection.
Resolution
For version 7.14 and earlier:
From within TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, go to "Edit - Data Connection Properties" . Click the "Settings..." button. In the "General" tab, click on the "Edit..." button. Highlight your custom query under "Views in connection:" . Click "Custom Query" and do the necessary changes. Click the "Verify" button to verify the query is correct. Click "Yes" to the popup question if you want to update columns. Click OK . For version 10.0 and higher, there are 2 ways to edit an existing custom query:
Option 1 From within Analyst client, go to "Data - Data Connection Properties" . Click the "Settings..." button. In the "General" tab, click on the "Edit..." button. Highlight your custom query under "Views in connection:" . Click "Custom Query" and do the necessary changes. Click the "Verify" button to verify the query is correct. Click OK .
Option 2 Open the Data canvas . Click on the cogwheel found under the red database icon representing the data connection. Click "Custom Query" and do the necessary changes. Click the "Verify" button to verify the query is correct. Click OK .
Note: Custom queries must be trusted by a user belonging to the group "Custom Query Author" in order to work in the web clients. If you have an existing custom query and only want to change data source, please check the following article for how this can be achieved:

Issue/Introduction
To edit an existing custom query in a data connection, you need to go to Data connection properties or, starting from Spotfire version 10.0 and onward, via the Data canvas.
