Description

Issue/Introduction

How to enable logging in the MacOS Spotfire app should there be a need for further investigation

Resolution

Start up the MacOS Spotfire app with command line arguments:

1.  Open Terminal

2.  Assuming the MacOS Spotfire app is in your Applications folder, type:

/Applications/Spotfire.app/Contents/MacOS/Spotfire enable_logging=true
   User-added image

3.  The MacOS Spotfire app will start and the logging of all important application activity will begin.

4.  The Terminal window will stay open and the logging of activity will be reflected there.  IMPORTANT: If you close the Terminal window, the MacOS Spotfire App will also close, so leave the Terminal window open during your session when you want logging enabled.

5.  You can access the log file at:  ~Library/Containers/com.tibco.spotfire.SpotfireMac/Data/Library/Application Support/Spotfire/Logs/app.log.

Note: If 'Library' is not found on Mac, use the following approach to unhide the Library folder.
