It is always recommended to import a windows user to SDMS database when SDMS features will be used. When SDMS integration is enabled ( KB000032786) and the Authentication is configured as "Windows", the user's windows credentials will be used/shown as the login user for versioning and other SDMS features. The following steps show how to import a windows user to SDMS.
Resolution
Prerequisite: 1. SDMS administration Tool 2. SDMS System Administrator privilege is required to perform the importing.
Resolution: 1. Log into the SDMS Administration tool with credentials that have SDMS System Administrator permission.
2. Navigate to Users and Groups>>Users, right click to select "Import Windows Users...".
3. In the prompted dialog, select the corresponding domain from the "Domain", type the user name under "Add Names" (in the format of domain\username) and click "Next". This can also be an Active directory group that can be imported.
4. Select the SDMS groups the user needs to be assigned to and click "Finish". Note that at least member of Document Administrators is a minimum for the imported user(s) to be able to create versions of configurations.
