    Steps to import a seismic well log into Petrel and use the borehole seismogram template:

    1. Edit the file called LogNamesToPropertyTypeCatalog.xml in your <petrel installation>\xml folder and add the following lines:

      <Entry>
         <Property>SEISMIC_DEFAULT</Property>
         <Mnemonics>SREF</Mnemonics>
      </Entry>

      This will set all curve kind of "SREF" to be seismic well logs.  SREF is the curve kind used by Geoframe to tag this type of well logs.

      For OpenWorks, the OpenSpirit curve kind will be "Synthetic" so you'll need to add another <Entry> with <Mnemonics> set to "Synthetic

    2. Start Petrel, connect to OpenSpirit, and then broadcast the well log from the Data Selector.  The log should have the "Seismic log template" for Type in Petrel.
