If the license service or the Statistica application files need to be installed on their own dedicated server, then this article provides information on how to perform this activity.
One example to this use case is when several licensing services are installed on a dedicated server that just handles licensing requests for several applications. The license service can be installed without the Statistica application files or Statistica server (WebStatistica), et al.

Issue/Introduction
If the license service or the Statistica application files need to be installed on their own dedicated server, then this article provides information on how to perform this activity.
Environment
Windows operating systems only.
Resolution
Note: The steps in part A must be performed before the steps in part B.
A. First Installation: The License Service
1. Start the installer on SERVER1 where the license service will be located. Select the 'Custom Install' option:

3. Click the Next button and then select the drop down next to Statistica. Select 'This feature will not be available'.
4. Select the drop down arrow next to Workstation Installer 64 (and Workstation Installer 32, if present) and select 'This feature will not be available'.
5. After all the selections only the License Manage Service will be selected for installation:
6. If desired, the path to the License Service can be changed by selecting the "License Manager Service", clicking the Change button, then selecting the folder or typing in the customer path:
7. Select Next and proceed with the rest of the installation steps (this will include registration) to complete the installation of the licensing service.
B. Second Installation: Statistica application files (typically includes the Workstation Installer folders, Statistica Server/Enterprise, MAS, or Live Score)
1. Start the installer on SERVER2 where the Statistica program and file shares will be located. Select the 'Custom Install' option.
2. Select the drop down next to License Service and then select 'This feature will not be available'.
3. Only the License Manager Service has been de-selected.
4. Click Next and then you will be asked for the location of the ClientSTAT.tmp file. This file is located on the server where the licensing service was installed on SERVER1.
5. If possible, browse to the path on Server1 where you installed the license service. Assuming the default path was chosen during the license service installation, that path will be \\Server1\C$\Program Files (x86)\StatSoft[Statistica]\FLEXlm\. If there it no access to the location of ClientSTAT.tmp file, copy the ClientSTAT.tmp from SERVER1 to another location on your network that is accessible to Server2 (this file can be copied directly to SERVER2).
6. Select the location of the ClientSTAT.tmp file and click Next. Proceed with the rest of the installation. Registration is not required. When finished the Workstation Installer folders and other Statistica files will be installed on SERVER2. The Workstation Installer folder(s) can then be shared as indicated in the installation instructions here: https://docs.tibco.com/products/tibco-statistica-13-5-0.
