Description

We have a security policy which specifies Statistica cannot be installed on machines that have access to the internet.  Can Statistica work without an internet connection?

Cause: Internet security issues.

Issue/Introduction

How to keep Statistica offline for desktop and concurrent installs?

Environment

Windows operating systems only.

Resolution

For commercial installs, neither desktop nor concurrent installs need to be connected to the internet to install, register, or function (or to uninstall and un-register).

DESKTOP INSTALLS

Desktop installs of Statistica do not require any internet connectivity to install for commercial installs.   Manual registration can be completed from another machine connected to the internet. See How to register for the full Statistica license file manually

For any installations that require email verification during the install (Academic rentals/purchases from OnTheHub), an internet connection is required in order to complete the install but only during the installation.  After the install, Statistica can be used on the machine without an internet connection.

CONCURRENT INSTALLS

Concurrent installs of Statistica do not require any internet connectivity to install for commercial installs.    Manual registration can be completed from another machine connected to the internet. See How to register for the full Statistica license file manually.

For any installations that require email verification during the install (Academic rentals/purchases from OnTheHub), an internet connection is required in order to complete the install.   However, after the install, Statistica does not require internet connectivity.

Note:   No usage statistics are accumulated and sent automatically from Statistica to any outside internet location.  Logs files that record error messages, for example the lmgrd.log file (see Statistica Error/Debug log/report), are stored locally and are never sent automatically but must be manually sent to TIBCO support via email or attached to the case.
