How do I point workstations/clients to a different license server?
Workstations/clients have a pointer license file, named stat.lic, which contains information indicating which license server it uses. The pointer license file is a text file which can be directly modified. Or, with SOLUTION TWO, below, the ClientSTAT.tmp file can be moved and renamed on each workstation/client.
SOLUTION ONE
To change the point license file:
1. On the workstation, browse to the pointer license file location, named stat.lic. The typical location is one of the following:
2. Double-click to open the stat.lic file (open with Notepad)
3. Change the server name and the MAC address to match the desired licensing server:
For example, in the pointer license file, below, Figure 1,the name of the server and the MAC address was changed, Figure 2:

4. Select "File" | "Save" to save
Note: Usually files cannot be saved directly to program file locations and instead must be saved somewhere else and then copy and pasted to the program files location.
SOLUTION TWO
The ClientSTAT.tmp file on the licensing server contains the exact same information as the pointer license file.
1. On the licensing server for which you want to the workstation/client to point, browse to the FLEXlm folder. Typical locations are:
2. Copy the ClientSTAT.tmp to every workstation/client
3. From the workstation/client, copy the ClientSTAT.tmp to the Statistica <version #> folder on every client
4. Delete the stat.lic in the Statistica 1<version #>folder on every client
5. Rename the ClientSTAT.tmp to stat.lic on every client
Now the workstations/clients will point to the license server desired.
