Description
Lasso Enterprise 2.0 fails to install on a Windows Server 2008 with the following error:
ERROR: The installer has encountered and unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package.
The error code is 2869.
Issue/Introduction
This article explains how to resolve the message “ERROR: The installer has encountered and unexpected error installing this package” with Lasso Enterprise 2.0.
Resolution
User Access Control has to be set to "Never Notify" on the Windows Server 2008.
To disable UAC:
1. Go to Control Panel->System and Security.
2. Select Change User Account Control settings.
3. Change the setting to "Never Notify."
4. In order for the changes to take effect, the Windows 2008 server must be rebooted.
5. This setting can be reset after Lasso Enterprise is installed in order to maintain the original security policy.
