2. User Management for WebStatistica: create new users & user groups
If you have installed WebStatistica during the Enterprise server installation, the installation procedure should have automatically created below Web Statistica user groups for you in "Control Panel“ : All control panel items - Administrative Tools-“ Computer Management - Local Users and Groups - Groups":
SWS_USER
SWS_DOWNLOADFILES
SWS_UPLOADDATA
SWS_UPLOADSCRIPTS
SWS_BATCHABLE
SWS_PORTAL
SWS_PORTALINTERACTIVE
SWS_ADMIN
If this was not successful, you can manually create these groups.
You can create new WebStatistica users (right click on Users | New User...). Double click on the created user account abd add users to be member of various WebStatistica user groups.
The minimum requirement for user authentication on the WebStatistica server is to be a member of the SWS_USER group.
The user account can also be added to other WebStatisitca user groups to have more operation permissions, like SWS_ADMIN, SWS_UPLOADDATA, SWS_UPLOADSCRIPTS, SWS_PORTAL, SWS_DOWNLOADFILES, etc.
Once a WebStatistica user is created with minimum SWS_USER group permissions, the user can login to WebStatistica. (Usually the WebStatistica server URL is http://EnterpriseServerHostDomain/WebStatistica)
3. Add Enterprise users to access WebStatistica
To add Enterprise users to access web statistica, you can double click on the SWS_USER group, click on "Add" button, a dialog will appear allowing to choose the domain/location of the Enterprise user account, enter the user account ID, click on"Check Names" to make sure the server detects the user account exists, and then click on OK to add the Enterprise user to be a Member of the SWS_USER group.
Similarly, you can add Enterprise Users to other Web Statistica User groups to have more operation permissions, like, SWS_ADMIN, etc.
4. Set user access permissions for Analysis/Reports in WebStatistica
To set the permissions of users for Analysis/Reports in WebStatistica, you can go to Enterprise Manager, click on that specific report or analysis node, there is always a sub-node named "Access Permissions" where you can set which user are allowed to read/edit the report/analysis, and which user are not. Then click on "Commit" to save the changes. Once the access permission is set through Enterprise Manager, the access permission for that report/analysis will be reflected/effective in WebStatistica as well.
