1. Right-click at a location in the TDV Studio resource tree where you want this data source to reside, and select "New Data Source".

2. In the New Physical Data Source dialog, select File-Delimited or Microsoft Excel(non-ODBC)

3.Supply this connection information for a file-delimited data source:

Root Path—Specifies where to begin the search for the files on the local file system. The root path is the absolute path to the root directory where the files reside.

FTP connection details can be provided by setting URL to following format ftp://user:password@host/path

Example:
ftp://admin_user:mypassword123@ftp.server1.com/file1.xlsx

You can also specify "network location" and the URL to the file should be relative to the machine where TDV Server is running. 

Example:
file://Filer/Engineering/test.txt
