Description

Microsoft Process Explorer is an advanced diagnostic tool that we can use to troubleshoot TIBCO Statistica crashes, performance issues and memory leaks.

Issue/Introduction

This article covers the usage of Microsoft Process Explorer in order to capture Statistica crashes, performance issues and memory leaks.

Environment

Windows OS

Resolution

1). Download the latest Process Explorer Tool from Microsoft:   https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer.
2). Unzip the downloaded file and follow the installation wizard to install it on your machine.
3). Process Explorer window should appear listing all the active processes on your machine. Here we would be interested in the Statist.exe process:

4). Reproduce the problematic behavior in TIBCO Statistica, return to this process in Process Explorer, right click|Create dump|Create Minidump|Save the Dump (.DMP) file and send it to the Support team.
