Description

I still have hotfixes that were not able to be removed and I have tried other solutions. Is there any other steps I can try to remove them?

How to use the MsiZap command line utility to remove hotfixes

Environment

Windows operating system only.

Resolution

The MsiZap.zip command line utility can be used to remove the hotfixes.

DISCLAIMER : Tibco Software does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to Microsoft Article ID 256986.  

Follow these steps the V10HFs004 hotfix:  

1.  Download MsiZap.piz, rename the file to MsiZap.zip, then  unzip the MsiZap.zip folder by right-clicking and select "Extract All...."  

2.  Open an administrator command prompt:  right-click on the command prompt  in All Programs | Accessories and select 'Run as administrator'

3.  In the command prompt window, switch to the directory containing the Msizap executable:

4.  For the hotfix v10HFs004, type in one of the following (only key in what is between quotes):

  • 32bit hotfix:   "Msizap TW! {8D82B7B1-6EDF-4C2F-9995-6C4EC7A85516}"  and press the Enter key.
  • 64bit hotfix:   " Msizap TW! {69A569E6-C181-410A-9ACF-BF22AC8AA4FC}"  and press the Enter key
 
5.   After running the command in #4 above, delete the following from the registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\STATISTICA Hotfix
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\STATISTICA Hotfix
