Description

Statistica provides capability to timeout a WebStatistica session when the session is inactive for certain period of time.

Issue/Introduction

Inactivity timeout setting for WebStatistica session

Environment

Windows

Resolution

When a user first requests WebStatistica, the user's credentials, server load and licenses are checked to verify this is an authorized use of the system. When the user has succeeded in passing these checks, a session has been created for that user.
The session will "timeout" if it is inactive for a period of time and the user has not explicitly logged out.
The server periodically runs cleanup code that checks for and logs out expired sessions. The "Period" setting is the number of minutes between these checks.

1. Go to "Start | All Programs | Statistica 13 | WebStatistica | Administration" to open the WebStatistica administrator configuration console.

2. From WebStatistica administrator console, under "WebStatistica | Main site | Settings | Connection", set the inactivity minutes to "timeout" a WebStatistica session and the time interval in minutes ("Period") for the Server to periodically check if the WebStatistica session is inactive and timed out.
