Description

As per this announcement there was no daylight saving time (DST) change this time for all Brazilian time zones. Due to this, there is an impact on Scheduled Update trigger time in TIBCO Spotfire. Reports scheduled in this time zone still trigger as if there was a DST change, so they trigger at the incorrect time.

For example, if report is scheduled in the "America/Sao_Paulo" timezone, where this time there was no change in DST, the reports would load/update one hour early.

Resolution

This incorrect scheduling is due to Java not handling the time zone change correctly. JRE includes Timezone Updater(TZ) Tool and this issue has been fixed in Java update 8u231 as per this page.

TIBCO Spotfire Server versions 10.3.5 and 10.6.1 and higher already include this Java update with the fix.

To resolve, upgrade to any of the following versions:
  • TSS 10.3.5 or higher
  • TSS 10.6.1 or higher
  • TSS 10.7 or higher
