NEW INSTALLATIONS
Beginning with SDMS 1.0.6.0, SDMS uses the same keys used to install Statistica. Prior to SDMS 1.0.6.0, separate keys were needed to install SDMS.
UPGRADES
Upgrades will just upgrade the current SDMS application files. With the changes to the SDMS licensing, the current upgrade process will look like:
- SDMS version 1.0.2.3 or higher must be installed
- FlexLM installed with the SDMS feature in the license file (either install 13.1 with new SDMS-enabled keys, or we give them a new license file). FLEXlm is installed when Statistica installed so Statistica must be installed first. Note: Standalone version of Statistica do not include FLEXlm.
- Run the SDMS Setup.exe application, which will upgrade the SDMS files.
- Manually copy/paste/rename ClientSTAT.tmp file from FlexLM server to SDMS server installation folder – as stat.lic.
- Restart SDMS service.
The last two steps need only to be performed one time. This means once the user has 1.0.6.0 (or newer), they will not have to perform the last two steps in future upgrades.
To conclude, if SDMS (1.0.6.0 or higher) is installed, the main Statistica license file must contain the SDMS feature.
LICENSING
- Installsl prior to 1.0.6.0, will list the user counts in the SDMS Admin Tool by right-clicking on Statistica Document Management Tool (local) near the left, top, corner. Select All Tasks | License Information....:
- With the Installation of SDMS 1.0.6.0 (or higher) and Statistica 13.1 (or higher), no user counts are provided at this time. The main Statistica license file will show SDMS as a feature, like this: FEATURE SDMS sta_flxm 7.1 permanent 1. The "1" at the end is recognized as one SDMS install.
