Description

An attempted installation of TDV v7.0 or later appears to have failed.  You observe these criteria:
  • Your TDV_Server_Install.log contains this line:   "Error initializing the repository".
  • The <your install dir>/repository/data  AND/OR  <your install dir>/repository/data_cache directory is not present.
  • There are no cs_server*.log files or cs_monitor.log files present under <your install dir>/logs.

Issue/Introduction

This concerns an install failure.

Resolution

Recall the new password you submitted for either the repository db or the default cache db.
If you used any special characters (outside the range of alpha-numerics and most punctuation), test another attempt without any of the suspected special characters to verify the suspects.

Postgres documents limits it has in supporting various characters used for its own db passwords.
You will need to determine which characters were problematic and choose a new password to use.
If Postgres was not able to process your original attempted password, it will not allow our installer process to log into Postgres and run our DDL to initialize the repository and/or cache db.  Then the installation is rendered incomplete.
