TIBCO Scribe® Insight Adapters can be installed when you install TIBCO Scribe® Insight.  However, if an update to an Adapter is released or you need to reinstall, you can install the Adapter without reinstalling TIBCO Scribe® Insight.

Note: For TIBCO Scribe® Insight Versions 7.9.4 and higher, the Adapters cannot be downloaded separately. They are part of the TIBCO Scribe® Insight installer. Refer to the Installation Guide for the version of TIBCO Scribe® Insight you are using.

Note: TIBCO Scribe® Insight installation files are now hosted on the TIBCO eDelivery site.
 

Getting Started

 

1. Download the new  Adapter Installer and the Release Notes.  Release notes are in the Scribe Insight Help Library.
2. Review the Adapter Release notes for version compatibility.
3. Open the Scribe Insight Console and pause the Integrations in the Console.
4. Close the Console and the Workbench.
5. Stop the five Scribe Windows Services: Scribe AdminServer, Scribe MonitorServer, Scribe BridgeServer, Scribe MessageServer, and Scribe EventManager.

 

Uninstall The Old Adapter

Uninstall the current Adapter with the Setup.exe Wizard.
 

1. Locate Setup.exe in your Scribe Insight installation folder, either C:\ScribeInsight7xx_x32 or C:\ScribeInsight7xx_x64.
2. Right-click Setup.exe and select Run as Administrator.
3. Check the box next to Insight Adapters and click Start Installation.
4. Uncheck the box next to the Adapter and click OK.
5. Click OK in the pop-up that says: Scribe services must be stopped before continuing . . . The Wizard continues and uninstalls the current Adapter.
6. Exit the Setup Wizard.

 

Install The New Adapter

All Adapter installation files for a given Adapter type have the same name. To install the new Adapter, you need to copy the Adapter installation file from your Windows Downloads folder into the TIBCO Scribe® Insight Adapters folder so the new Adapter replaces the existing one. 
 

1. Navigate to your Windows Downloads folder.
2. Locate and copy the ScribeAdapterXXX.msi file to the Adapters folder in your Scribe Insight installation folder. The Adapters folder is either: C:\ScribeInsight7xx_x64\Adapters or C:\ScribeInsight7xx_x32\Adapters
3. Run the Setup.exe Wizard located in the Scribe Insight installation folder.
4. Check the box next to Insight Adapters
5. Click Start Installation. The Adapter shown in the next window should have the new Adapter version number listed.
6. Check the box next to the new Adapter and click OK.
7. Click Next > Install > Finish to install the Adapter.
8. Exit the Setup Wizard.
9. Restart the five Scribe Services: Scribe AdminServer, Scribe MonitorServer, Scribe BridgeServer, Scribe MessageServer, and Scribe EventManager.
10. Open the TIBCO Scribe® Insight Console and enable your Integrations.

TIBCO Scribe® Insight Adapters can be installed when you install TIBCO Scribe® Insight. However, if an update to an Adapter is released or you need to reinstall, you can install the Adapter without reinstalling TIBCO Scribe® Insight.
