Description

An error occurs when using installation keys provided by OnTheHub.  The error is:  "Invalid Key" or "Invalid Serial Number."  An example is below:

There may be different error messages that appear.  
 

Issue/Introduction

This article discusses an issue with the installation keys for some Statistica academic versions rented/purchased from OnTheHub. This may also apply to versions released after 13.3.

Environment

Windows operating systems only. Windows 7 and above.

Resolution

The issue is when the keys are copied and pasted into the installer.  Usually this will work without issue but if the Serial Number or the Product Key contains the letter 'i', which will look like the numeral '1'.  to fix this, copy and paste the Serial Number or Product Key but change the letter one to the letter 'i', without the quotes.

For example, this serial number shown below has the letter 'i" in the 7th position from the left.  It looks like the number one or the letter 'L' but it is an uppercase 'i':
AXA801I282XXHUB-X

When copied over, it changes to the number 1, which causes the error.  To fix this, manually change the '1' to the letter 'i'.  Lower case is allowed.  Then continue through the install wizard.
