Description
For Statistica Enterprise customers, it is always recommended to have Statistica Server, MAS and Livescore installed on separate servers. Since each of them could occupy a good amount of system resources when loaded with heavy jobs, placing them on individual servers improves the resource utilization and performance efficiency. Here below summarizes whether IIS is required for each application component. This information could be helpful for product installation planning and configuration.
Issue/Introduction
This article explains whether IIS (Internet Information Services) is required for each application component of Statistica.
Resolution
Application Component Name | Is IIS required on the application server? |
Statistica Server (a.k.a WebStatistica) | Recommended but not necessary |
Monitoring and Alerting Service (MAS) | No |
Web Data Entry | Yes |
SDMS | Yes |
LiveScore | Yes |
Notes: WebStatistica service can run by itself and the user can place the Web UI files on a separate Web server manually. And tt needs to be installed manually and configured with the Web UI files. Instructions could be found under "Configuring Apache" session (page 9) in the Statistica Server Administrator's guide: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/stat-dms/13.5.0/doc/pdf/TIB_stat-dms_13.5_admin_server.pdf?id=
